This backyard went from drab to fab with a total backyard overhaul! When we first visited the property, we noticed the stunning views of the golf course from the backyard, but no where to relax and enjoy them. Our clients wanted to extend the patio cover area, remove the two level spraydeck around the pool and replace it with new decking, and add an outdoor entertainment space. They also wanted to remodel the existing pool and spa. 

This backyard turned out better than we even dreamed! The material selections made truly compliment the natural nature elements that surround the back of their property. Here is the breakdown of what we completed at this stunning Seven Meadows property.

  • The existing pool had new tile, coping, stone and waterfalls installed. We finished the pool and spa remodel with a beautiful gray pebble plaster.
  • We removed the existing two level spraydeck around the pool and replaced it with a whopping 3,000 sq ft of travertine stone pavers.
  • We installed a patio cover that was THE largest cover we have ever done. This massive cover provides multiple different sitting and entertaining areas including a living room seating area, patio swing area, outdoor kitchen area, and outdoor dining area. The patio cover features gorgeous beams, a stone facade and lighting on the posts.
  • No backyard makeover is complete without an oversized outdoor kitchen! This kitchen features a built in smoker, grill, trash pull out, storage drawers and drawers, a double burner, bar sink and refrigerator. This outdoor kitchen has it all!
  • We built a custom table with seating for 12 so all could join in for a cookout or dinner outside. The table was finished in a stone facade to match the patio cover and topped with granite.
  • For a night of relaxing by the fire, we built a custom firepit complete with a raised wall to really set that space apart from the rest of the backyard.
  • And last, but certainly not least, we completed the renovation with a blackstar gravel border for drainage and landscaping to really make the new features in the backyard pop!

Project Details

This Grand Lakes pool was an existing pool when the Brown family purchased the house. The original owners opted not to have a spa built with the pool. Spa’s are wonderful features. They provide the trickling sound of water during the day and allow for warm relaxation in the evenings. The Brown family wanted to remodel the pool but also add the spa. Did you know that you CAN add a spa to a pool that doesn’t have one?

Here’s what we did on this pool remodel:

  • The existing pool tile and coping was replaced.
  • We added a new 8' spa with a negative edge spillover.
  • We added a raised wall with water descents as well as 2 columns complete with water/fire combo bowls for a nice statement.
  • The pool was finished with a beautiful custom blended blue pebble plaster.
  • We also built a patio cover to extend our client's outdoor living space. The patio cover extension made the perfect place to add an outdoor dining table.
  • The backyard wouldn't have been complete without a firepit. For this fire feature we went with a large Wok style fire pit that matches the water/fire combo bowls on the columns and completed it with blue fire glass.
  • Who remembers that old pea gravel decking? We removed all the pea gravel deck around the pool and replaced it with a beautiful natural travertine stone paver. It really completed the stunning look of this backyard.
